| Obit of George Groom - son of John Edmond Groom and Mary House, died 24 Nov 1935 and buried in Higbee Cemetery, Deerfield Twp., MI: GEORGE GROOM, 72, pioneer resident of Mecosta county, died at his home five miles southeast of Stanwood Monday after an illness of three weeks. He went to Mecosta from Missouri 48 years ago and had lived there until his death. Surviving are the widow, three children, Layton R. Groom and Mrs. Winona Laug of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Dorson Hansen of Stanwood, and a sister, Mrs. Josephine Bell of near Morley. Funeral at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Higbee church. Burial in Higbee cemetery. |
